Steve McCurry – The heart of India http://whatweseeiswhatweare.com/?p=482 http://whatweseeiswhatweare.com/?p=482#comments Thu, 09 Feb 2012 13:56:58 +0000 Luis http://whatweseeiswhatweare.com/?p=482 After working at a newspaper for two years, he left for India to freelance. It was in India that McCurry learned to watch and wait on life.  No one better than the photographer himself in order to tell the story behind one of his pictures. Enjoy the photographs and the video.

“If you wait, people will forget your camera and the soul will drift up into view.”

Tim Mantoani – Behind the photographs http://whatweseeiswhatweare.com/?p=444 http://whatweseeiswhatweare.com/?p=444#comments Mon, 06 Feb 2012 17:56:54 +0000 Luis http://whatweseeiswhatweare.com/?p=444

Mantoani is a photographer who comes from San Diego and for his work “Behind the photographs” he has been shooting images for the past 3 years using a 20×24 Polaroid. Each photographer is holding an image they are known for. As many of these photographers, like Polaroid, fade away, he hopes these images will be a way for future generation to appreciate the contribution these artists have made.

“We have come to a point in history where we are losing both photographic recording mediums and iconic photographers”

Enjoy the video and the pictures.

Martin Parr – Great Britain’s eyes http://whatweseeiswhatweare.com/?p=425 http://whatweseeiswhatweare.com/?p=425#comments Sun, 05 Feb 2012 13:05:46 +0000 Luis http://whatweseeiswhatweare.com/?p=425 Martin Parr’s is a bitter point of view of British life in the suburbs and in provinces all around his country. His funny aproach as a photojournalist makes him unique.

Sam3 – Olé http://whatweseeiswhatweare.com/?p=408 http://whatweseeiswhatweare.com/?p=408#comments Fri, 03 Feb 2012 07:33:06 +0000 Luis http://whatweseeiswhatweare.com/?p=408 Sam3 is probably one of the best Iberian street artists. Bizarre forms, paintings and sculptures can be found all around Spain and Portugal. Street art is not a deeply-rooted custom in my country but we still got some interesting things to show :-)

Don´t forget to share this if you find it cool! After all, sharing is caring!

Jenny Holzer – Feminism on the walls! http://whatweseeiswhatweare.com/?p=393 http://whatweseeiswhatweare.com/?p=393#comments Fri, 03 Feb 2012 07:10:25 +0000 Luis http://whatweseeiswhatweare.com/?p=393 Difficult to say something intelligent when talking about conceptual artists like Jenny Holzer. What started a as game, has become a way of publishing ideas in public spaces.

Blu – From Bologna to your heart http://whatweseeiswhatweare.com/?p=379 http://whatweseeiswhatweare.com/?p=379#comments Mon, 30 Jan 2012 22:14:38 +0000 Luis http://whatweseeiswhatweare.com/?p=379 I discovered Blu a couple of years ago in Bologna and found his work again last year in Lisbon.  I think that this guy deserves (at least) my recognition in this blog. Blu is probably one of the most famous street artists nowadays. You might probably know him because of his huge wall paintings that decorate some of the most significant cities around Europe, Africa and South America. His work can be found all over the globe and he keeps out of the comercial art machine in which so many street artists enter to never go out again. Enjoy the pics and don’t forget to share it on Facebook ! ;-)

Dan Witz (Chicago, 1957) brings us to the limits of street art.
